Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we never sell anything, we don't track you, and you can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.

What we collect

• Your email address — used only to sign you in.
• Your name and optional photo — shown to people in your groups.
• Family members you add — just the names you type, so you can answer for your children.
• Group content — events, RSVP answers, chat messages, and any photos or files you send in chat.
• A notification token — a device code that lets us deliver your notifications. It is stored privately and no other user can read it.

What we don't collect

• Your birthday. We check your age when you sign up, then we throw the date away — it is never stored.
• Your location. The app never asks for it.
• Your contacts. We never read or upload them.
• Advertising or tracking data. There are no ads and no third-party trackers, and we never sell or rent your information.

Who can see your information

Your name, your photo, the names of family members you have added, and the list of groups you belong to are readable by anyone signed in to Liahona Connect — not only by people in your groups. This is how the app shows names and pictures next to messages and answers across groups. Do not put anything private in your display name or a family member's name.

Your messages and your answers to events are different: those are limited to the group they belong to, and people outside that group cannot read them. Anyone in the group can see who has answered for an event, not only the people who organise it.

Children

Accounts are for ages 13 and up. Younger children take part through a parent: a parent adds a child's first name to their own family list and answers for them. Children under 13 have no account, no login, and no information of their own beyond the name their parent typed. A youth 13 or older may have their own account, and a parent and youth can optionally connect their accounts — both sides have to agree, and either can disconnect at any time.

Keeping and deleting information

• Chat messages and their photos are deleted when their group is deleted.
• Content that someone reports is kept for moderation and legal compliance, even if the original message is removed.
• Delete your account any time from Your Profile in the app. That removes your account, your profile, your answers, and your family list. Your name is removed from messages you sent. • If we ever receive a valid legal request to preserve specific information, we will do so as the law requires.

How your information is protected

Data is stored with Google Firebase — sign-in, the database, uploaded photos, and the server code that sends notifications. Access is limited by security rules so that only people in your groups can read your group's content, and notifications are sent from our server so your device token is never shared with other users.

Companies that process data for us

We use two service providers, and only to run the app. Neither is given your information for their own purposes, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

• Google (Firebase) — stores your account, your groups, your messages, and any photos you upload, and runs our server code.
• Expo — passes notifications to Apple and Google so they can reach your phone. A notification carries the message it needs to show you.
