Delete your account

You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app, in about ten seconds. If you have already removed the app, email us and we will do it for you.

In the app

1. Open Liahona Connect and tap your initial in the top right.
2. Scroll to the bottom of Your Profile.
3. Tap Delete my account.
4. Type your name to confirm. That is deliberate — it stops an accidental tap from deleting everything.

Deletion happens straight away. There is no waiting period and no reactivation, so please be sure before you confirm.

If you no longer have the app

Email support@liahonaconnect.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm by reply when it is done. We aim to complete these within 30 days.

Delete some of your data — without deleting your account

You can remove specific things yourself, right in the app:

• An RSVP answer — open the event, tap RSVP, and choose Clear. The answer is removed, not just hidden.
• A family member — Your Profile → My Family → delete the person. Their name is removed from your family list.
• Your profile photo — Your Profile → tap your picture and replace or remove it.
• A chat message you sent — long-press it and delete. It shows as "Message was removed" so the conversation still reads sensibly; the original text is no longer shown to anyone.
• Everything you shared with one group — leave the group (hold its card on the Home screen). Your RSVP answers there, including your family's, are removed automatically.

For anything without a control in the app, email support@liahonaconnect.com from the address you signed up with, name the data you want removed, and we will delete it and confirm by reply. We aim to complete these within 30 days. One exception applies: content that was reported in a group is kept for moderation and legal compliance — a safety requirement for an app used by youth.

What gets deleted

• Your account and sign-in — you can no longer log in, and the email address is freed up.
• Your profile — your name, your photo, and your notification token.
• Your family list — the names of any family members you added.
• Your answers — every RSVP you recorded, for yourself and for your family.
• Your group memberships — you are removed from every group you belonged to.
• Any photo you uploaded as a profile picture.

What stays, and why

• Messages you sent stay in the group, with your name removed. They show as “Former member”. Deleting one side of a conversation would leave everyone else reading half a discussion, so the words remain while the person does not.
• Events you created stay on the group's calendar. They belong to the group's schedule, not to you.
• Content someone reported is kept for moderation and legal compliance, even after the original message is removed. This is a safety requirement for an app used by youth.
• If you were the last member of a group, that whole group is deleted with you — its events, its messages, and its photos.
• If you were a group's only administrator, the group and its members stay, but nobody is left able to manage it. Make someone else an administrator first if the group should carry on without you.

If you want your messages removed as well, email us before deleting your account and say so — once the account is gone we can no longer tell which messages were yours.
